Decay Probability Ratio of Pentaquark Θ State

The pentaquark state of Θ+(uudds) has been observed to decay with two decay modes: Θ+ → nK+ and Θ+ → pK0. The decay probability ratio of the two decay modes is studied with general symmetry consideration of isospin, spin, and parity. We arrive at a result of the ratio Γ(Θ →nK) Γ(Θ+→pK0) = (α−β) 2 (α+β)2 (1 k2 )2L+1, which is valid for the Θ+ state to be a pure isoscalar or isovector state, or a...

Study of the Cabibbo - suppressed decay modes

Using data from the FOCUS (E831) experiment at Fermilab, we present a new measurement for the branching ratios of the Cabibbo-suppressed decay modesD0 → π−π+ and D0 → K−K+. We measured: Γ(D0 → K−K+)/Γ(D0 → π−π+) = 2.81 ± 0.10(stat) ± 0.06(syst), Γ(D0 → K−K+)/Γ(D0 → K−π+) = 0.0993 ± 0.0014(stat) ± 0.0014(syst), and Γ(D0 → π−π+)/Γ(D0 → K−π+) = 0.0353 ± 0.0012(stat) ± 0.0006(syst). These values ha...

Color Suppressed Contributions to the Decay Modes

The amplitudes for decays of the type Bd,s → Ds,dDs,d, have no factorizable contributions, while Bd,s → Ds,dD s,d, and Bd,s → D∗ s,dD s,d have relatively small factorizable contributions through the annihilation mechanism. The dominant contributions to the decay amplitudes arise from chiral loop contributions and tree level amplitudes which can be obtained in terms of soft gluon emissions formi...

Tests of factorization in color suppressed nonleptonic B decay modes

We propose a number of tests of factorization for the color-suppressed nonleptonic decay channels: B → K(∗) ηc and B → K(∗) η c. The relevant leptonic constants and form factors are calculated within the QCD sum rules approach. Evidence for the suppressed decay B(-)→DK(-), D→K(+)π(-).

The suppressed decay chain B(-)→DK(-), D→K(+)π(-), where D indicates a D(¯)(0) or D(0) state, provides important information on the CP-violating angle ϕ(3). We measure the ratio R(DK) of the decay rates to the favored mode B(-)→DK(-), D→K(-)π(+) to be R(DK)=[1.63(-0.41)(+0.44)(stat)(-0.13)(+0.07)(syst)]×10(-2), which indicates the first evidence of the signal with a significance of 4.1σ. We als...
